DXing Log From Five Towns, LI and Brooklyn, NY

I took a trip to the Five Towns area of Long Island (NY of course), and used my Insignia NS-HD01 Portable Radio, and found out it was a very good DXing day (regionally). Most of the stations were way down south in Southern NJ, Philadelphia, and DE, and some in the New London/Eastern LI Market. This was outside with a set of Apple iPod earbuds. Around 6:00, this is what I got.

Back in Brooklyn, on my XDR-S3HD, I got WWIQ unusually strong with RDS (8) around 9PM and this morning around 8AM, some Philly stations (WIOQ, WRDW, and WWIQ), which were from 5 to 7 and WQHQ (104.7) around 7, were on my S3HD.

Good stuff there, Al !

From the list, it looks as if you wound up immersed, without much protest, in a little tropo as well.

Was B & R along that Belt Parkway/Sunrise Highway stretch, South Shore Queens
and Long Island ...... places like Canarsie, Howard Beach, Laurelton, Freeport.
I was mostly an AM DXer, but at times got some great FM trope DX on the car radio in
essentially the same area.
WOBM and WAYV were pretty much 'regulars' along that path of great geographic vibes, but
when the Philly stations came in, it usually indicated tropo. WQHQ on 104.7 is a good
trope beacon even up here in Coal Country PA.
(Lol -- with the Philly emphasis, you should've tried for WBEB 101.1 via a null on CBS-FM).
