Dxsradio.com- where are you?

I can't get any audio on http://www.dxsradio.com/.
Is it my computer or is this internet station off the air?

Dave E. posted this on his home page: "Under new rules that have been approved by federal legislators net-based radio operators will have to pay music royalty fees based on the number of listeners to our website rather than based on our revenue. That means that for small net-radio operators our music fees would easily eclipse what we earn. And that would put a lot of us out of business."

What a loss it would be if he did go out of biz.
He has a great entrepreneurial spirit and lots of talent.
To Dave E. - whassup?

I heard - this may just be a rumor - that he is being, and/or was hired full-time at Cox Radio Houston... which doesn't really give him time to mess with it anymore.

Sorry about not updating the website at www.dxsradio.com.

Thanks to Ed Scarborough's vision I was offered a full-time shift at Cox Radio at KHITS. DXS did receive lots of attention from the internet community but not as much backing from the advertisers. I am not a salesman and I was never comfortable making sales calls. And since DXS was struggling it was difficult to attract quality sales people to make the calls. I also felt uncomfortable asking for donations to keep DXS going. In the end we broke about even.

DXS stopped streaming about 2 weeks ago because it was the least profitable venture I had going at the time. My production company is starting to thrive again now that I have more hours to devote to it. And the KHITS paycheck does come in handy too.

I still believe in internet radio and it's ability to attract a large audience. But until the bankers and investors get on board the product will never be able to survive. Like any business venture, it takes a lot of focused marketing dollars as well as a few talented people to make it all come together. And did I mention "energy!" Because to be an entrepreneur you must have boundless energy to chase your dreams. Cash also helps!

Thanks for all of your support!
