Dynamax Console question

Long time reader/scavenger first time poster here. I'm new to the industry (a little over a year behind the mic/ on the board), and I've got a question for any other Dynamax MX console series users. We run two of the 3" models with rotary dial modules on two of our FM stations.

This is the board : http://www.sandiesusa.com/pdf/MX8R.pdf

The "Off , On" lights for each pot work fine on one of the boards, and are all dead on the other. I've tried switching lamps between the two to no avail. This issue predates my employment, but I find the on/off switches to be very unreliable( sometimes takes 3-4 good punches to get them to switch), and thus the mic or other pots occasional stay on when they shouldn't.

I've sent in support forms to sandiesusa to no avail thus far, and when they do respond I'm assuming they'll want us to ship the board to them for repair which isn't an option right now. Has anyone else encountered an issue with the lamps? Or had success replacing them with non factory parts?

I appreciate any knowledge in advance.

Any chance the 'off' lights are st up as 'load' lights on the one that doesn't play? (I don't know if Dynamax gives that option) They'd only light when the CD or cart machine is 'ready' if that's the case.

Let me run through the jumper settings in the wiring diagram/manual. In the middle of my morning show at the moment, but I'll dig through this and see if its an option or not. Appreciate the response!

I had a similar issue with one but I can't recall the chip to replace for it. Why not call Dave Strode over at Sandies? He was a great help to me - so much so that I sent all my modules to him to have the start/stop buttons upgraded to LED lighting. Looks so much better than the old lamps and I don't have to worry about replacing lamps anymore.

And if you're adventuresome, you can buy the on-off button replacement kit for about $50 and do it yourself. I've done two, and it ain't easy. Worth it to change the buttons, tho.

Call Dave Strode at 215 547-2570

In my experience, he offers some of the best tech support in the business. I am certain he will help you do what it takes to get your console functioning again.

Dave Strode is superb, friendly, and helpful if you need anything for his products. He answers questions well. And takes care of his customers well.
