Dynamax MX10L

Hello I'm looking to purchase a Dynamax MX10L broadcast console of off a local friend but wondering about the price. What do you guys think a fair price is for a used Dynamax MX10L broadcasting console in good condition? He says everything it is working fine and it doesn't have any issues. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

It would depend on the age and general condition. You should be able to ascertain the age via the serial number. As far as wear goes, I would check the sliders to see how worn they are. I believe the "L" models don't use the Penny and Giles sliders that the "E" models did but that could have changed between when LPB and Fidelipac did the manufacturing. Depending on condition you might be able to get a deal but I can't be specific on pricing. Perhaps you might find a similar console on the usual used equipment sites and see what the going rates are?

I know I have a MX12E console I'll be selling but it's in much better shape than the typical console. Besides only seeing service in a personal studio I sent all the modules back to Dave at Sandies for maintenance as well as LED light upgrades for all the input modules as well as the LED lighting update for the meters. I know I'd expect "real" money for it as it's been well cared for and upgraded to be closer to the new consoles Dave's manufacturing.

The serial number puts the console at being around 11 years old and it is in good condition for it's age. The sliders are in good shape and not very worn out. The console was only used by my friend in his personal studio for the last 10 years so it doesn't have a bunch of wear on it. If you can just give me a price range that be incredibly helpful. I know he said they costed a little over $5,000 new but that was 11 years ago. Would you say it's worth about $2000, $2500 etc...? You don't have to give me a specific price just a price range would be very useful. Thank You

@aagrisso: Considering those consoles are still available new from Sandies USA for the $5k price point it would stand to reason these boards hold their value. Considering they're modular and can be serviced with relative ease is a plus. Also consider you can get some cheapo Arrakis that isn't half the console. I would say somewhere between $2000 to $2500 would be fair if it's in good condition as I was going to flip my 12E for $2000. You're getting a nice console that should be serviceable for quite awhile if cared for.
