Just heard E-93 mention they are Getting a new morning show. There is no more Doug Banks show. Any Ideas who? Could they Pull Steve Harvey From Magic Since it's for sale? Could it be Power 106's Big Boy's Neighborhood? Could it be Tigger and Egypt? Could it be Hot97's Jonsey in the Morning? or can they ....Perish the thought..Start a LOCAL Morning Show?



Anyone know?

Haven't listened to the Doug Banks Show in quite a long time. Just saw on their website "The Doug Banks Show" coming in 2008. Can anyone shed some light on what happened?
 
Doug Banks No Longer has a MORNING Show on ANY radio station. Not sure if ABC Radio Stopped the show or was it Doug's Choice. Many stations have been switching out Doug Banks for Steve Harvey, Big Boy's Neighborhood, Russ Parr etc the last few months I guess they knew that the end was Near for Doug. From what I heard Doug Banks will have a New Syndicated Afternoon or Weekend Show For Urban Stations, Similar to the Michael Baisden Show for Urban ACs

Look for Doug Banks to have an afternoon syndicated show later this year. Most of his stations now carry Big Boy's Neighborhood syndicated from POWER 106 in LA. Rumor has it (HOT 103.9/Columbia)Boig Boy's show isn't very funny nor entertaining to the Urban audience in the South.

Radio One now syndicates Rickey Smiley Morning Show to a few cities(Augusta, Dallas, St.Louis). Keep in mind Radio One also syndicates Russ Parr's morning show too. Not sure when his contract is up.

Power 106 is more of a Rhythmic Station. So the show might not be a Perfect fit for Urban Stations It may require some music editing locally to make it blend in Properly. Not sure if E-93 would sound Right Playing Baby Bash-Cyclone,Fergie - Clumsy etc

I hope they didn't. Big Boy's show isn't all that!!! They would've been better off with Rickey Smiley, but I guess since Russ & Steve are on other stations Big Boy it is.

Was this during the mix show at 6PM? They played "Say It Right" in the mix this evening and I had to do a double-take to make sure I was really on E-93... The playlist still looks Urban to me though.

or Maybe it's sumthin else. E93 really needs to stay Urban. Savannah needs a rhythmic but NOT E93!. BTW When IS this morning show going to start R&R said it would be live on the 7th it is now the 16th and no show.
 
So it looks like Doug Banks is going to Love 101 for his afternoon show. Why wouldn't he just go to Magic? How will this play out for Love - Tom Joyner in the Morning and Doug in the afternoon?
 
This could be interesting. My understanding is that Banks did very well for E93 so perhaps he'll help Love similarly. As far as why Cumulus didn't just shift Banks elsewhere within their cluster...no idea.
 
The new Doug Banks Show in the afternoons is geared towards Urban AC stations. Look for him to pop up on Urban AC stations that compete with Michael Baisden's afternoon show. I don't see to many Urban stations picking up Doug's show. Most Urban stations are live and local in the afternoons, but Wendy Williams Show is also syndicated for afternoon drive.
 
I wonder if Doug Banks new show will pop up in Columbia SC? I havent seen anything on it yet. The only station to maybe carry it is 98.5 Kiss FM WLXC.

Magic is FORSALE don't expect many changes there, Plus Michael Baisden is more established in the PM Drive than Doug
