I recieved this e-mail in response from Robb Case:
Hi to all of you and thanks for listening to 91.5 FM and responding. I am
sending out a response to all of you as a group ( I am sending this out in
groups of 50) I found it nearly impossible to write back to each of you
individually. But in the future I will try.
So, many good ideas for the station and format. First, let me tell you that
we have nearly completed all the testing of the signal and have a few
physical modifications to make to the antenna system but can't until the
temperature comes up a few degrees. But it should not impede your listening.
I have noticed since there has been some consolidation in ownership of radio
stations in our market that many of you can't find something you like. We're
working on that. Yes, I flew the helicopter and reported for Channel 4 for
22 years but started out my broadcast career in radio. I worked at 880 AM,
103.9 FM, WTVN, and 92X (WCOL FM). I also tried my hand at acting and was in
the movie "Hairspray". If you watch it you'll have to look closely to find
me but I had a small speaking role as one of the radio station owners.
Here were some of your ideas for the format in random order.
(1) leave it alone we love the 80's music commercial free. By the way, that
is my youngest daughter doing the legal ID's at the top of each hour. (and
we will be recording new ones soon) (2) Progressive talk since we lost 1230
WCOL (3) NPR combined with local talk (4) K-Love type Christian music (alot
like 104.9 FM) (5) a mix of 70's-80's-90's but more of the obscure hits not
the same ten songs over and over (6) Southern Gospel and Blue Grass (7) some
wanted to host their own talk show.
There were many more some were real obscure but we looked at all of them and
we're still open to ideas. We're getting closer to finalizing this and
really appreciate you being apart of it. I am reading every e-mail that
comes and will respond as I get time. Keep in touch through this e-mail
address.
Sincerely,
Robb Case
