I was travelling along I-86/NY-17 around 6:30 and heard an ID on 88.7 for Way-FM. I was a bit confused, seeing as I was unaware of any Way-FM stations in New York, but I noticed that the FM band was acting funny. So I scanned around and picked up some big catches for the next 2 hours!
88.1 WJIS Bradenton, FL "The Joy FM" - caught TOH
88.7 WAYJ Fort Myers, FL (?) "Way FM" - only caught slogan, so could be WAYM Nashville, TN
92.1 WFFY Destin, FL "The Beat" - ID'ed using slogan and local commercial
97.1 WEZB New Orleans (?) - Heard the "Top 7 at 7" program at 8:03 local time, New Orleans commercial
97.7 classic rock "The X" I think
94.5 classical music
I heard some other things too, but I don't have the paper I logged it on with me. I don't know how much was local and how much was DX stuff because I didn't know the dialscape in the area I was driving very well. Regardless, I was having a fun time listening to this stuff from so far away... ballpark figure of 1200 miles or so!
