Also At 102.1 or 102.3 i heard what sounded like a hip hop station. this happend around 10:30 AM. can anyone help me identify these stations? Or Has Anyone Else Heard Anything Stange?

There *was* skip yesterday. There's a "Rock 103" on 102.9 in Columbus, Ga. which is within the area where I would have expected skip to Maine. That said there are other rock stations on 102.9 in the South as well (including one here in the Nashville area) so you can't conclusively say it had to be Georgia.

The hip hop on 102.3 you heard might have been Urban "X 102.3" WMBX out of West Palm Beach...but is that too far even for tropo?

It was E Skip, and WMBX is a common catch during skip around here.

Not at all...it's common for Florida stations to come roaring into the northeast. Wisconsin stations, too, as the "circle" of skip makes its rounds. About a month ago I had WUSF from Tampa blowing away WEOS barely 10 miles from the WEOS transmitter. I even got enough RF to show PAD on my HD Radio (didn't get the HD carriers enough to blend to digital, though)

Does Anyone Know What The Top-40/Hot-AC Station Could Have Been. Also I Heard A Commercial On The Rock Station Saying Something About Alabama And Also One About Keene If That Helps. But Your Probably Right That It Was The One In Georgia.

>>Wisconsin stations

A friend of mine was in Wis. a few years back and picked up what was then WBCS 96.9, country from Boston;
he quipped "Wisconsin's Best Country Station..." (complete with ads for Boston area businesses)
Once in Lynn I got WWDB (I think those were the calls) from Philly (then a talk station)
...Pensacola Christian College's station at 91.7 in Salem (WMWM was off air)
...an NPR station from Carbondale, IL while in western MA and then again while in Beverly
(these were all PAST catches)

And a couple years ago while visiting a friend in Akron, OH he was noting some good catches on FM
(I was in the car next to him; we had parked at an Olive Garden in NW corner of Akron and he scanned
the dial for a moment and jotted some of them down. One from New Orleans, I think!)

Also have picked up some CBC stations on FM while on Rt 128 in Reading etc
