Eagle Morning Show

I hear the Feb numbers for Walt, Kat, and Chris are way down. Anyone know for sure?

With all my comments on this board, I'm embarrassed I have never listened. I wasn't a huge fan of Walt on KCRA. I listened to his first few shows and it didn't work for me.

We'd rather listen to podcasts of Brian and Jill, and Mark and Lynda. Sorry Kat!

Not very good at first, but they seem to be settling in now and sound much better. My first thought when Walt and the gang first started is, where's the funny? But in all fairness, I think few people could follow Mark and Brian, let alone fill their shoes

Walt seems to be comfortable on the air. Not sure how Chris and Kat like the arrangement.

It seems like all 3 are still trying to find some kind of direction for the show.

Well put. I've listened again since this thread started and it seems like a show without a compass.

I have no idea what their ratings are, but the show does nothing for me. I listen to Armstrong & Getty, then other music stations during A&G breaks.

In the Modesto/Stockton area, Mark & Brian was replaced by the syndicated Bob & Tom back in 1998. And Bob & Tom has been a bigger success than Mark & Brian ever was. Mark & Brian was only around for 4 years (1994-98) while Bob & Tom has been on the air for almost 15 years and is still going strong. Does anyone think that Bob & Tom can succeed in Sacramento like the Modesto/Stockton market or not?

Bob & Tom seem to do better in smaller markets. I think Sacramento is too big. Never cared much for their show...too much laughing and not enough punch-line (if you know what I mean).

I want to like Walt's show but it's just too much of a yawn fest in the AM. The pace is slow, the jokes are few and far between (and mostly from Chris), and the setup seems to impair Kat's years of broadcasting experience (she sounds like she's new to radio for some reason). I think Kat would do much better paired with an edgier vet host with rock radio experience - and no Chris. I think Walt was better on TV.
