"Eagle" Stalker Gets Jail Time

Does this mean that she had killed all the others @ the station or that they had died from other causes :eek:

If you're referring to consolidation and voicetracking, two of radio's "natural causes" since 1996, probably... :p

She probably just wanted to hear Journey's "Dont Stop Believen" one more time..... ;D

@MsMusicRadio - I figured you'd be a fan of Nick's schtick in the morning.

I like Nick and John Moore too. I think they are very professional, Just wish they had this level of talent all day and ditched the liners for jingles reflective of the stations of the era that played Eagle music

Remember, Cox brought you "The Point" whose two DJ's did nine-hour shifts. I guess that's the only way they'd be able to pull off having "talent all day" on the Eagle - but we wouldn't want anyone stepping on that all-important "107-Minute Nonstop Flight," would we? :p

I think "The Eagle" sucks as well. Just the stale liners and the music library. I don't know why in the heck my parents like this station so much.

Music library wise I would ditch the "Classic Hits" term and just call it "Classic Rock". I would then expand the playlist way past its current level. Why can't "The Eagle" play artists like Santana, Jethro Tull, The Kinks and so on. I would also expand the music played by artists already playing on "The Eagle". Adding more deep cuts to the playlist would also be good.

7 days a week filled with Voice-tracked personality will be better than what the station plays now.

I can confirm that the Eagle has Santana in their rotation, and at least on their Internet stream, you could occasionally hear a Kinks song as filler during a stopset...

Agreed!

Jimi Hendrix is another artist that can fit on 107.3. As well some of the early stuff from Queen, such as "Seven Seas of Rae". Paul Simon and some pre White Album Beatles could do as well.

I don't think they want to lean too much on the 60's [Hendrix]; otherwise, they'd have a bigger Beatles library than just "Come Together" and "Hello Goodbye."

Let's just look at "The Eagle's" 70's and 80's product. So many songs from "Eagle" artists such as The Eagles, Rush, Blue Oyster Cult, Fleetwood Mac and so on that only get the most popular of their songs played. Rush released more songs than just "Tom Sawyer", despite the stations name Thunder 103.5 did have a larger Eagles library. "Godzilla" is a Blue Oyster Cult song that charted, yet "The Eagle" will not touch it.

Fleetwood Mac had more hits than just the songs on the Rumours album, and Stand Back.

"The Bitch is Back" hit the charts back in 1974, yet you'll never hear that on 107.3.

Those are just examples of the small playlist that "The Eagle" has.

Re: Fleetwood Mac: According to the "top songs" log on Yes.com, their only appearances on the top 100 are "Landslide" (the "Unplugged" version) at No. 18 and Stevie Nicks' "Edge Of Seventeen" at No. 64. Interesting since they regularly burn out "You Make Loving Fun" and the aforementioned "Stand Back" on a regular basis...

Seems like nothing changed in the days of Coast 107.3 and the Nick and Kara days when the liners always sounded the same and backselling 6+ songs into every break.
