Eagle: Why?

They appear (12+ anyway) to be off a bit...but not anywhere close to the lowest they've been.

Could be sampling issues...or how the diaries fall.

Wouldn't count them out yet.

Don't hold out for rap...(isn't that dead?)

So what do you guys really want? Another [EDIT] Elton John Teddy Bear station?
I like on air mud wrestlin'......wish there could be more.

[EDIT-offensive content]

Top 6 25-54 in a top ten market- how "not so good" can that be? They're ordinary and formula-sounding but ratings-wise, they do very well.

#5 25-54. Why?

Do you know of any station that always keeps it's exact same share & rank all the time? HINT: no such station exists. All stations go up and all stations go down- some stay highly ranked longer than others and some never reach the top tier. What most are looking for is a consistent level of success and in a market like Atlanta, somewhere in the top 6 or 7 25-54 means really good revenue.

Now, if you don't LIKE them, that's a whole different topic. But don't question their success so far- they are ahead of most other radio stations in Atlanta and have been since their inception.

We have enough country radio in Atlanta. The ratings prove it. Three country stations in this market is overkill.
We need more Spanish language stuff...

C'mon-be serious.

You're not paying attention: KGO in San Fran has been number one for over a decade. There are a handful of well position and well run stations that are consistently top ranked. Atlanta has had ten years of rapid growth in audience and number of frequencies. I can't even guess how many legal and non legal hispanics have moved in since 1996 when they weren't even weighted. Remember, these are Arbitron Audience ESTIMATES. They tell you that they aren't correct up to 3%. Looking at how rock stations are dominating in Philly and Houston, I'm betting they dropped a "0" in their %.

One example-big deal. Are those who are perennially HIGHLY ranked? Of course: KMOX, WJR and a handful of others, but the are the exceptions, not the rule. Take heritage N/T stations out of the mix and it's nearly impossible to get to #1 and stay there for long stretches. This guy (I was responding to) was acting like The River in Atlanta was somehow not doing well- cripes, they've been in the top five 25-54 just about every book since their sign-on.
