Early Example of Nash FM Being Involved in National Programming?

Nash FM 94.7 and several if not all Cumulus country stations are simultaneously airing tonight the same program. It is a show from Las Vegas concerning the Billboard Music Awards. Nash's midday DJ Kelly Ford has been interviewing some of the country stars that have been nominated.
Also on the show is Lisa Taylor from Cumulus' The Wolf in Dallas TX (she was an on-air personality years ago on WYNY), and Hawkeye (not sure which station he is with).
I heard the show being aired on Nash, WDBY in the Danbury area, and WCTO in eastern PA.
The reason I am posting this, is that this show may be an early example of Nash FM being involved in special programming that is rebroadcast on the other Cumulus country stations.
Frankly, I did not know that the Billboard Music Awards, which recognize performers from many musical genres, are of any special interest to country music fans.

Well partner, I shed a few tears during the televised George Jones funeral (a little embarrassing because I was at work-in master control of a TV station airing the funeral proceedings). On the way home I listened to some Led Zeppelin.

Cumulus is also airing BBMA simultaneous coverage for their CHR, Hot AC, AC and Rhythmic stations.

Such as WPLJ - see this NYC thread: http://radiodiscussions.com/smf/index.php?topic=234897.0

Taylor Swift is HARDLY country. Top 40.

Nothing ODD about this.. Clear Channel also does this yearly during their big "iHeart Music Festival" These type things are Big Cluster Radio way of bringing events to various markets cheaper. [Yes I know NYC isn't small market but I am guessing this Billboard special aired in many markets].

Maybe in your head but not on the charts.
Shes currently #5 on the billboard country airplay chart with "highway dont care" with tim mcgraw.
+ shes "only" had over 20 country top 40 hits in her 7 year career.

Do we really have to go thru this what country is thing again....cant we do something new.

So she is also pop top 40 since shes had hits there too but shes country too.
Just like florida georgia line currently is #1 on the country airplay chart + #15 on the billboard pop top 40 airplay chart.

Definitely not in my head.
Country brass doesn't either or have you forgotten what's widely considered a big snub at the past CMAs. She does the bare bones minimum to stay relevant there these days. It's not about modern v classic country, she's just moved on to appeal to a wider audience. Her roots are country, but she currently is not; it happens and that's fine.

FGL isn't even a discussion point. They are clearly Country, and Cruise was remixed with Nelly and de-Country'd for T40. Nice try cowboy. This was about the Billboards to begin with.

Well if its about billboard then as i said all her songs are hits on country radio which is totally country brass controlled.
Just look what they did in that push to get george strait his "60 for 60" #1 song by last week playing the stuffing out of "give it all we got tonight" & it worked since it hit #1 on mediabase (which they count too) though only #2 on billboard airplay.

So when taylor quits having multiple hits on the country chart then she wont be country but until then she is.

WNSH sure does like to play her.

edit:
their playing "mine" right now....lol.

All Access recently reported (and quoted on Radio Insight.com) that Blair Garner, the host of Premiere Networks' overnight "All Night" show, will apparently soon leave that gig to do morning drive at WNSH-94.7, but his show would also be nationally syndicated (presumably to all of Cumulus's other country stations and perhaps to non-Cumulus country stations in markets where Cumulus doesn't have a country-music outlet).

The All Access story is at http://www.allaccess.com/net-news/a...-garner-strongly-rumored-for-wakeups-at-94-7-
