Earth FM 103.3 Morning Show

252 people like their Facebook page. They must be devastated.

LOL. That is kind of sad. I wonder how Earth is doing finance-wise. Being a non-subscriber to Arbitron and seeing that low FB count, I can't imagine how they're pulling off ad sales. Particularly when a station like X98.5 has over 3,000 FB fans and only managed a .7 in the latest book.

In all fairness, Earth's listener base tends to lean older, and older leaning stations typically have fewer likes due to less social media usage by that age group. However, I do wonder how they are doing. KC Carson left a good while back, and now Howard Hudson has, both of whom returned to radio after a pretty decent hiatus. Love and Hudson had their day 10-20 years ago, but like I've said before, just because something worked before doesn't mean it will now.

Earth doesn't sound that bad, but they kind of lack an image outside of the DJ's. Chuck FM is more engaging.

earth fm will end up having more new facebook pages than employees

Facebook itself skews older so I don't think that explains small number of followers. It could be their inability or lack of knowledge of how to get Facebook likes but teens now avoid Facebook to get away from their parents... and grandparents.

I do think that attempts to recreate old shows are bound to fail. If either of them wanted to stage a comeback, I think they would have been better off doing something new on their own.

Love & Hudson got started on WFBC-AM, where they first got noticed, in the early '80s, and returned to the market from Jacksonville in 1988 to do mornings on 'MY. Their ratings peak was in 1990, so 20+ years.

These guys were at their best together. Neither is particularly unique alone, and Earth has nowhere near the promotional resources of MY 102.5 in 1988. I think they could have found the magic again, but repeating their original success was a long shot.

I emailed Lee and he said that Howard decided to leave the Morning show. and he also said they will start playing some christmas music sometime in November he said he don't know the date yet when it will start.

I have Facebook but I don't like anything. I don't want all that information about myself on my page. I just have a page to keep in contact with some people I met online who no longer go to the sites where I met them, and some people I went to high school with.
