Is it just me, or has EARTH FM been suffering an identity crisis for the better part of the past year? Musically, it’s nearly a different radio station every time I tune in. BTW - I don’t live in the Upstate, but work brings me here at least once a week.
A few weeks ago they were very heavy on the 90s, including rock and grunge. It sounded absolutely ridiculous with their imaging, jingles, and older sounding air staff. Then, next time I tuned in, they were very heavy on the 70s. It’s almost as if it were freeform radio with absolutely no thought or strategy going from one song to another.
I like their packaging and presentation as a classic hits station, but their music logs are atrocious. I also think it’s ironic that The Lake, which positions itself as random with crazy variety, is anything but random. Meanwhile, Earth FM it’s all over the road, musically, with a straight forward classic hits presentation.
