This week (April 18th) was the 100th anniversary of the devastating 1906 earthquake that destroyed much of San Francisco (although several fires in the days after the quake, touched off by severed natural-gas lines, actually did more damage than the quake itself).
Since it is generally considered the biggest event in the history of the San Francisco area, I would think that most of the market's TV stations broadcast special programs commemorating the anniversary, and several stations (read: KTVU-2, KRON-4, KPIX-5, KGO-7, and KNTV-11) probably broadcast live coverage of any special commemorative ceremonies that may have been held.
Being on the other side of the continent, I hope someone in the Bay Area can provide a brief rundown of any special programs of coverage done by San Francisco's TV stations.
