EAS test

How did it go for everyone else? In Frankfort, we got the test...5 seconds of audio...dead air until the Endec timed out and ended the test.

You got 5 seconds of audio? From where? WHAS didn't send any seconds of audio.

The test was a massive failure around the country. Louisville and Dayton both had the same thing- decoders worked but no audio was sent other than a lot of static in the signal.

I noticed QMF, AMZ, QNU, SFR, XMA , TFX, and LRS all had the tst in some shape or form. I was surprised that WAKY and WHAS had nothing at all.

We monitor WUKY and WLXX. I think it was UKY's test we broadcast, it got to us before LXX's. I'm not sure, but I think UKY monitors WLW, but I don't know who else they monitor besides the NWS.

And the "test" lived up to my expectations.

Had some issues with tones and audio playing behind eachother in my market (Hopkinsville/Clarksville). At my station (WKDZ-FM), everything seemed fine, but again, audio was hard to understand.

WHAS not having it doesn't surprise me, lol. Thankfully I was listening to Shortwave radio so I had no interruption of service. Bracko hasn't gotten around to interrupting that medium yet, but given time I'm sure he will.

No, WHAS definitely had the test. They were the source of the test rebroadcast on WQNU, WRKA, WVEZ, and WSFR.

But it had no audio other than static. And that was common too.

so...you believe Obama is "interrupting the medium"? please continue...

Got the tones, heard the static, got 3 seconds of: "this is a test of the....", back to static, noise, then the closing tones. I think it was a successful test, but then again I think the country is in good shape and my meds don't need to be decreased.

I have no love for "W" either. I haven't had much faith in anybody in government for the last 20+ years.
