EAS Tests

Umm, that genius would be the FCC ... rules state that tests rotate throughout each daypart.

I know in Florida, one week the tests would be during the day and then the next week the tests would be in the overnight hours.

What you heard last night was the CT Broadcasters Association Monthly test, which was scheduled for 12:35AM. Stations have up to 15 mintues after reciving the test to then relay it to listeners.

In other words, once the receiver gets the test signal, the board op--most likely automation--has until in this case 12:50 AM to air the test. Just curious, aside from trouble with the FCC, what if there's a screw up and the test doesn't air w/in the 15 minutes?
