Been getting in a bunch of south Jersey, Atlantic City and Philly area stations here on Long Island. WFPG 96.9 has been coming in very strong and basically obliterating Hot 97 at times. WISX overpowered WBLI. WAYV has been coming in very strong, as has WDAS. Noticed a ton of others as well (though have been a bit too busy to do an actual search)

Many New Jersey FMs were very powerful last night here on the Rhode Island coast. Among them were 96.9 WFPG, 105.7 The Hawk, Cat Country 107.3, and 97.3 ESPN Radio.

A WTFDA member, Jeff in Springfield, MA, got 97.1 WYND from NC at 500 miles! Awesome Tr for you Nick.

Well I'm not that Jeff, I'm the Jeff on the other side of the state, but I also received WYND here, which is 534 miles. 91.7 WBKU, which is also 534 miles, but more north and west than WYND, was in as well. On Sunday night, several stations from Richmond were in. Overall, it was a very good 3 days of tropo.

Didn't look up or write down every station I picked up, but I was picking up a ton of southern Jersey stations (which is always big during tropo, and Philly as well (another tropo biggie) as well as eastern LI stations. From there pretty much went down the coast, several from Ocean City/ Salisbury Maryland, some from Delaware. Quite a few catches from the Norfolk & VA Beach area, as well as down into North Carolina with stations from Cape Hatteras and Elizabeth City.

I think I know the answer to this (having to deal with the water), but just a question. Any reason why DX/Tropo direction can change in a matter of miles?

I usually DX from the Massapequa/ Farmingdale area (within a few miles of the south shore of Long Island) and the vast majority of the stations I pick up during DX conditions are from the south. I went to college in Stony Brook (few miles from the north shore in central Suffolk) and while I was there, I rarely noticed any southern stations come in, and most of the DX was from the north. As a side not sure how much this had to do with it, but reception was awful in the dorms so you needed to have a wire antenna hanging out the window (which I had and my window faced the north).

I'm getting jealous hearing all these good reports.

I always remember the good FM reception down at the Jersey shore in summer from places as far as eastern North Carolina and even in the middle of the afternoon.

Here on the west coast of Florida, our peak tropo activity is in March and April. This time of year, there's nothing to write home about.
