Eastenders PPV on FIOS

I'm considering the switch from Dish Network to Verizon Fios. Because I can't seem to find a daily programming grid online for Verizon Fios, I am asking for help from any FIOS TV subscribers. I purchase the monthly Eastenders PPV which is available from Dish. Is this PPV also available through Verizon FIOS? The availability of Eastenders is a dealbreaker for me. Thanks for your help

Can anyone explain why Eastenders should be PPV in the first place?
Why would it not be carried by BBC America? It used to be. It was also on one of the NYC area PBS stations, WLIW I believe.

Good question about Eastenders being PPV. It used to be on Channel 12 and 39. In fact, I think Channel 39 still runs it Sunday nights at 11pm.

It was dropped by channel 12 because it did not generate the amount of money it took to purchase the broadcast rights and still turn a profit. BBC America droppped it due to low ratings. Due to the pressure of rabid Eastenders fans, Dish Network started carrying it as a PPV event on a weekly, per episode basis, but then changing it to a monthly package at $9.95 per month.

That is interesting...just yesterday I read a little note that I made for myself off of the Eastenders website to try to determine when Vickie (Pauline's grandchild) would appear on the Channel 39 episodes that are what? 5 years behind? I was so thrilled when we first got Directv and the BBC channel had up-to-date and classic episodes, both, of Eastenders which were soon dropped. I don't have digital Comcast so my Channel 39 is wavy and Comcast says there's nothing we can do about it except go digital. So I watch old Eastenders episodes at 11 pm Sundays with that disadvantage. By the way, my friend and I were saying that based on what we've read of upcoming episodes on the official website we feel like we are watching "Dead Men Walking" based on how many characters on the old episodes we are watching are going to meet an early end!

OMG! Five years behind? Now I don't feel so bad having to buy the monthly PPV. The Dish Network PPV is only about 6 weeks behind. When Channel 39 catches up, if they ever do, you will notice a stark contrast. With the exception of Ian Beale, Pat Evans, Peggy and Phil Mitchell and Dot Cotton, there are no vestiges of the early residents of Albert Square. They just recently re-intorduced Bianca Jackson and Ricky Butcher to the show, but for how long who knows? I guess you had to figure there would eventually would be a turnover of cast and characters. The show is at least 20 years old at this point. I'll bet that the only original cast member remaining at the swan song of this series will be Ian Beale. How much longer can this show possibly go on? One last question, why are none of the Eastenders episodes available on DVD? I even tried the Ebay and Amazon UK sites and only found a few specials available. I can only imagine the cost and volume of an entire Eastenders set if and when it becomes available.

You may want to try http://www.verizon.com/fiostv altho I think you already need to be a subscriber to view the grids and all.

You are correct. The link does not give you access to the programming grid. Bad decision on Verizons part. Anyone can go to the Dish Network website and access the daily grid. I think this access to the programming is a strong marketing tool. Verizon could benefit from this tactic as well.
