Eastern Long Island

Not for nothing, but most of the CT top 40 stations come in just fine. In fact i go so far to say that there are too manyTop 40 stations. To name a few there is KC101, Kiss 95.7, and on the far east Q105. What i think there is a need of is a Active Rock/alternative, similar to CCC. Can't get ccc cause of the LIR bleed. Just my 2 cents.

I know for a fact it stops a good like 60 miles or so from Montauk. I checked on radiolocator.com & they had Z100 listed as 100 miles away! wow that is wayy far from the city area!

WBLI is a class B almost 50,000 watt radio station whose city of license is Patchogue and transmitter is in Farmingville. Both are less than 60 miles west of Montauk. What you claim to know for a fact is not even remotely possible. I believe you can still get a good signal from BLI as far east as Sag Harbor.

It's been awhile, but IIRC, both WALK and WBLI had decent signals on the tip of Montauk. WALK does well out towards Orient.

I'm out east at least once every month, and even though they are heavier than WBLI in the rap department, there is 101.7 WBEA the Beat. Their studios are in Amagansett, and they have a line-up of local jocks who are all former Party 105 personnel (Ballistic Bob, Nikki).

I sample them every time, and it sounds like they have improved the audio-chain a lot. I also hear a new voice in the afternoon who is also on a lot of their commercials, but he's not on the website, which has also been improved.

I try to call in during their morning show, and I always get either Bob or Nikki on the phone, and they are both very pleasant. Otherwise, nobody answers the phone after 10am, but being that Nikki is also on at night, I assume they voicetrack the rest of the day. Still, they sound better than they did 6 months ago, and they are from the Island.

It's CHR, not "Top 40"

You mean "Eastern Long Island is in need of a CHR station".

Party 105.3 is CHR/rhythm and is licensed to Roanoke, a village near Riverhead. KC101 and 95.7 Kiss FM are CHR/pop and from Connecticut.

101.7 The Beat is R&B/hip-hop according to its song survey and the description that herethere gave.
