Eastlan now measuring monthly ratings for Raleigh-Durham

Eastlan December 12+ ratings/ Raleigh-Durham

Per Radio Insight, Eastlan is now conducting monthly radio ratings of the Raleigh-Durham market. Their December 23 report shows some interesting differences from Nielsen and includes many more stations. Looks like they use telephone calls to calculate their ratings and include any station mentioned at least 10 times. Thoughts?

I'm assuming Curtis wanted/paid for this. The month they completely shut off the PPM encoders showed they must have some issues with Nielsen.

To me the numbers more reflect straight cume vs. Nielsen inflating low cume stations due to high TSL.

They sound so much better without all the Voltair distortion.

Or, like always happens, stations with low ratings blame the ratings company.

They do no such thing. Cume (stations a person listens to) and TSL (how long they listen) are all that Nielsen measures... everything else is derived from that: share, rating, AQH persons.

Share / AQH Persons / Rating can be from a low TSL station with large cume or a low cume station with high TSL or anything in between. The result is correct and accurate.

Eastlan shows non-subscribers, Nielsen does not.
