Easy.Movin sold in Myrtle Beach

It took me this long to realize WEZV changed their format. I was a regular listener 5-10 years ago and was in total awe of their relaxing format. I considered it an American treasure.

I decided to listen to them today for the first time in years. For some reason I expected them to still have the soft oldies format I remember. Was I in for a shock. They were playing all the uptempo burned out songs a million other adio stations play. I guess they are mainstream AC and I absolutely hated it, especially knowing what they used to be. I understand the business reasons behind it. I don't care. I now hate this station with all my heart and soul.
Yeah, it's a mess, but once The Tide was gone Mainstream AC fans only had WGNI or possibly WXLY or 100.5 in Florence, whatever that is now.

You did notice that they had uptempo music dating back to the 80s, didn't you? Plus a few 70s which were still "lite".

I'm surprised iheartradio hasn't flipped 104.9 or 107.1 to The Breeze as we have plenty of retires here. Also the format works well in San Francisco, Sacramento, Tampa Bay, Miami, Seattle.

107.1 The Breeze
"Relaxing Favorites"

Several people commented that there should be a "Breeze" in Myrtle Beach but up until a year ago, that's what WEZV sounded like. I've tried to tell a difference between Bob and Sunny and I can't. I would have thought Bob would move more AC when The Tide went out, but they stuck with older songs. Incidentally, WTKN was mentioned for the first time in The Sun News today because a controversial host was let go. The article made it look like people knew what WTKN was already.

True Sunny 103.1 and 104.9 Bob do sound similar. Only difference one is classic hits while other is adult hits. Also both seem to do well in the market. If one flipped the other would pick up the audience.

But I don't see iheartradio changing anything in Myrtle Beach right now. They have the #1 country and #1 pop station in the market.

And why does that make them different? 98.7 Simon where I live is mostly classic hits too and the de facto classic hits station for the market, but it also includes some Hot AC and is listed on one web site as Hot AC, which I can't get corrected. Bob doesn't seem to be AC at all.

I can agree with that 104.9 Bob doesn't sound at all AC with some of the choice in music they play classic rock one minute then next older or newer pop hits.

Liz Callaway left from WRNN to go to WTKN so
I would imagine many people know about WTKN
