And maybe gave each other a quick reach-around LOL

Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network is back on DISH Network as of 11pm ET 1/31/06. Here's the link to the basic details.

I would love to know exactly how much Lifetime came down in their attempted rape...I mean rate increase of over 70% over 3 years...

If they did it was short lived. We have Dish Network in the breakroom where I work and today (2/1) the WE Network was on 3 Channels - 108, 125, and 128. This was at 1230PM.

It is 9:22pm(c) and Lifetime is on channel 108.

OKAY, okay....

I DO work at Lifetime so obviously I can't say much. And while, yes, Lifetime DID run anti-Dish ads, the Dish network were running crawls on the channels during the standoff! So don't push all this on Lifetime folks...it went BOTH sided here.

Lets face it..there were NO winners here. Most women wanted to see Lifetime but couldn't and EchoStar were losing subs. A deal HAD to be cut somehow and as such, the deal was made.

Sorry, Tony. According to someone that I talked with at Echostar, they were actually GAINING subs through all of this. I think most of that can be attributed to their upcoming DISHfamily package. Which by the way excludes the Lifetime channels.

I know that the package is only 19.99, but I want to clarify that Echostar didn't really lose the war. And my wife never really cared - she gained three more women's channels in the middle of negotiations. Pretty cool considering that's she's been on the couch all month sick during her first pregnancy.

I hope that Echostar treats other nets that try to rob us viewers' wallets with the same stern reaction. Hear that Lifetime?? Live within YOUR budgets - not MINE!!

Tony,
On a positive note - Lifetime is a much improved network. It's got sharp graphics, really good new programming, excellent repeats, and is a great place to stop and watch shows that aren't demeaning or sacreligious. You should be proud to work at the place. In a sea of channels focusing on men, teenagers, and kids - Lifetime IS the best womens interest channel by far.
