EDWIN J. BECK III, 33, of Belmar, died Wednesday, August 24, at home.
Born in Staten Island, he lived in Parlin before moving to Belmar three years ago.
Mr. Beck was a disc jockey for the radio station 107.1 The Breeze in Neptune.
Mr. Beck is survived by his parents, Thomas and Theresa Amelio of Parlin; a brother, Steven of Sayreville; a sister, Jennifer O'Leary of East Brunswick; his grandmothers, Theresa Tibus of Old Bridge, and Grace Amelio of Staten Island; and two nephews, Mark and Ryan O'Leary.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm today at the Micheal Hegerty Funeral Home, 3377 Rt. 9, Old Bridge.
Funeral services will be at 10:15am Saturday at the funeral home followed by a 11:15am Funeral Mass at St. Thomas the Apostle, Old Bridge.
Interment will be in Chestnut Hill Cemetery, East Brunswick.
In lieu of flowers, domations may be made to the Goodwill Rescue Mission , 79 University Ave., Newark NJ 07102, Attn: Executive Director Jim Benton.<P ID="signature">______________

Wow, another one hitting close to home.

I never met Ed nor spoke to him other than via the board. First losing Doug at 28, and now Ed at 33 shows that it's never too early for someone to be taken from us. And Ed was a hometown guy to boot. There's not that many people from Sayreville/Parlin involved in radio. Shame to see one of the good ones go.

As I normally do in these situations, I'm rambling incessantly. So I'll stop here...
