"Ed Hogue"???

The Sacramento Bee strikes another blow for journalistic accuracy today...this time, the tease from its RSS Feed:

"Sacramento talk show host Ed Hogue today called for the leader of the city's Republican Party to resign following inclusion on the party Web site of offensive material directed at Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama." {italics mine}

Ah, Eric, they still loves ya on Q Street......

Oh, yeah......from the online story, where they actually got his name right:

"Local conservative talk radio host Eric Hogue called for MacGlashan to resign as GOP leader in Sacramento County. He called the posting on the GOP site "sophomoric, childish, unprofessional and egregious."

Note no station affiliation/calls included.

I don't think that Eric has been on the air as a "talk show host" for a couple of years now. Last I knew he was preaching on a Salem God station out of SFO and sometimes doing infomerals for their Sacto cluster. The only reason the Bee brought him up is probably because there isn't anybody else on news-talk radio in that market for anybody to quote.

I thought when they took him off the AM station, they put him on evenings (or maybe at least one evening a week) on KFIA. But I heard that awhile ago, so it may not be the case now. I worked out of the Salem building while working for Metro for 6 months doing morning news. Although my leanings are the polar opposite of that clusters in general and way left of Hogue's, he is a very intelligent and nice guy. And even better, he made me think.

Eric Hogue {who I briefly "board produced" for years ago in the AM Drive days} has been on KTKZ with a one-hour noontime daily program, "The Capitol Hour with Eric Hogue", sandwiched between Dennis Prager & Michael Medved, for quite a while as well as his early evening stint on KFIA & KFAX from 5-7 pm weeknights.

Nice enough guy, has the pipes, a real pro most of the time......he just has a way of promising far more than he can deliver.....won't go into detail, but what I was promised and what reality was were two very different things.....
