Ed McMann on B101 and on KISS?

I dont understand how B101 allows Ed McMann to do mid-days and he does over nights in Boston on KISS 108. I know he is probably voice tracked in Boston an parts on the B, but aren't the markets to close to have 1 jock on 2 different stations? Does anyone else do that or has done that? Weekends ae one thing but a regular weekday shift seems weird.

I think the formats are such that it really doesn't matter if he's on both, especially if KISS is an overnighter. Of course it matters to someone who is out of work at one of the stations, but you can't really fault someone for taking advantage of what's going on in radio today & using it to his advantage. He's on in Hartford too. I was in NH over the weekend & heard WMJX's Dan Justin tracked on a station up there on a weekday shift. I'm kind of surprised another station in Boston like WODS hasn't tried to get McMann since that's the market he's really known in. Maybe it's more lucrative for him to track various stations.

105.9 The River, 99.5 The River, 95.1 The Fox....

Hartford, Albany, Rochester, NY. He must be voicetracking all day long. I don't think he's live on any of the shifts.

To a layman I'd explain it as prerecorded breaks so the whole show can run off a computer. It's how Ed McMann can be a classic rock jock, a CHR jock, and a homie without leaving his studio at home. It's a good convenience tool but greed has turned it into something else like a substitute for a live person.

Specifically, he voices the PM drive in Hartford at WHCN-FM 105.9 ("The River 105.9").
