Ed Newlands to head new radio group

Ed Newlands, AKA; "Big Ed" will head radio group set to buy east end stations. Numerous calls to Newland's office have not been returned to us so far. This move will be the biggest one time purchase so far in the history of Long Island Radio. Expect heavy jingle jams and reverb to rule the radio roost soon! Big Ed phone home!

I haven't read or seen any news since this post. Does anyone know more about the radio group, which stations they are acquiring or any other details?

TMO sell off? Is this why WLIR's web site just shows a logo. No more link to the stream. This may mean serious withdrawl, or having to listen to Sirius 22.

Both the Party 105 and LIR websites have removed their 'clutter free' websites and replaced them with logos only. The BONE site is still up.

Man, what is up with that company? They can't go one month it seems without tweaking something. Changing formats. Putting websites up, taking them down, adding streams, removing streams. Their radio stations, musically, are fairly unique for commercial radio by today's standards but the company seems to have been a total mess for years.

I still miss the old 92.7...

Thats what happens when there is bad management. Blame the guy at the top. I hope the new owner runs things better than the other guy. Too bad really, all 3 stations had a chance to do some serious damage and maybe now they might have a chance. But then again, what can you expect from TMO...The Money Only.

A well played joke...I've been researching Big Ed to no end, looking for FCC filings, even tried to verify this on the 'other' Long Island board. And it served to help me learn a bit more about the history of Long Island radio.

There is quite a large underground of radio people on Long Island... many of them not working "in the biz" for want of putting food on the table... anyway, this group is very close knit and help each other out... and occasionally play some gags on each other, all in good fun.
