ED $TOLTZ AND CBS SACRAMENTO

CBS just banked $40 mil from a Portland operator for its 3 stations up there.

Any idea what they could get for their Sacramento properties?

Might be good to ask Larry Wilson. He's rumored to be buying here. He's looking here, Phoenix and Vegas.

Not sure of cash flow, but I would wager that the CBS Sacramento cluster would fetch about the same $$ that Portland did. Stick value alone might be better.

Ed has money, but not quite that much. He's also picking up smaller pieces at a time, don't know how he'd be able to grab an entire cluster. Plus, he has no prior "cluster management" experience. He'd need to sell his new toy in Vegas to pick up CBS Sacramento. But, Ed might want it enough to just to spite and compete with Entercom.

Alpha might be a string suitor for the cluster. Vegas, IMHO, is a better play for Alpha since Citadel was based there during Larry's day (and still is), plus the CBS Vegas market manager just left to join Alpha. Will be interesting to see if CBS considers Las Vegas "Beachfront property" and hangs onto it. Sacramento isn't, and I think the clock is ticking on a potential sale.

Re: ED $TOLZ AND CBS SACRAMENTO

Not that it'll "strengthen" his portfolio, but I am curious:does Ed Stolz still
have ownership of the long-silent KKSA 1030 (the old KHWY, Folsom) and
longer-silent 1500 KROQ-AM (Burbank)? ;D

When Ed first got approved for KROQ-1500, he changed the calls first to KRCK (later moving those calls to his Palm Springs FM) then later to KIEV, but it still not on the air

What about 1030am in Folsom. Does he still have ownership or did he lost that license. Same thing for 1500am in Los Angeles.
