[EDITED] Latin American stations carrying "Monk" w/ subtitles?

Right now (1510 CDT, 8-27), I am watching "Monk" on channel 2 with Spanish subtitles. . . Odd, since most US programs I've seen on Latin American TV are dubbed, and none of the major networks appear to carry the series.

What station is this? A Mexican independent (such as XEFB, which is common for me)? Some other nation? Some LP translator of a US Spanish network?

[EDITED TO ADD]: After "Monk" ended, the Dennis Quaid movie "Flight of the Phoenix" aired on this station, also with Spanish subtitles. No ads or logo were ever seen. I also caught the same programming on channel 4. Could this be some sort of subscription TV network? According to schedules I've found online, it's not XEFB, WKAQ, or WAPA. . .

Also, I caught WPBT-2 from Miami in the middle of a pledge drive promo, WIPM from Mayaguez, PR running public affairs-type stuff, and Tele Cubana on 3 with a few words from that bane of my AM DXing existence himself, Fidel Castro.

I would expect something near-domestic. Monk is hardly the kind of humor that would go over well in Latin America, so the subtitling may have been for Hisapnics viewing in the US or a possession.

However, would a station in PR be showing a 2004 movie uncut (well, at least the English dialogue, the subtitles may have been bowdlerized) and ad-free on Saturday afternoon?

WKAQ is heavy commercially at all times.

By that, I assume you mean they have frequent ad breaks. This station (really, these stations, since it appeared both on 2 and 4) had none that I saw and I was watching it for about 2 hours. Highly atypical, if it is a commercial station and not a pirate or state-owned service from somewhere.

WUVF-CA Naples, Florida? 3kw, and I have information to the effect that it's a Univision affiliate.

(way outside your target area, but there's another Univision affiliate on channel 2: KKFQ-CA Yakima, Washington which relays KPOU-16 LaGrande which in turn operates as a Portland station... Licensed for 800 watts, has a CP to increase to 1950.)

LPs *do* "skip out", especially these newer, more powerful ones. Indeed, if I recall properly WUVF has been reported seen via skip before.
