Hey all, I am wanting to edit audio that is on a web site. Back in the day with my old computer I was able to play the audio cut on my computer and it would record into an audio editing software. I had to change computers so now I am working with a trail version of cool edit pro. Anyone know how to set up your computer so you can play the audio from a web site and it record into cool edit pro? OR is there a free, easy program better I could use? Any idea's or help would be great.

Editing Audio Question

I assume you are trying to "gather" the audio as it streams. It is audio that you cannot simply download with a "Save File As" with a right-click of the mouse.
Total Recorder by High Criteria has the ability to do what I think you are trying to do. It isn't free, but it is very affordable.
Total Recorder has some editing abilities, but if you have ever used Cool Edit or the Adobe Audition that it has become today, you will laugh at what Total Recorder offers in "Editing". If acquiring Audition is beyond the depth of your pockets, Audacity is quite good, and is free.

I have Audacity, but how do I do what I am looking to do, I want to record a stream that will not let me "save as". So I want to record the stream and record into audacity bascically.

Alright figured it out with the audio, now my question is this.......I have 6 tracks on cool edit pro and want to save it as one file since it's 1 audio clip I had been working on.

Open the first file, then with it still open, do FILE > OPEN APEND and select the second file. It will be added to the first. Then FILE > OPEN APEND and select the third file. It will be added to the first two.

Yeah it didn't sound to me that it was a mix, but a string of files..
