Edmonton's Got A New CHR! Hot 107

Hmmm sounds cool for now, but Ill listen again when they get jocks and regular programing....

I thought the format for Hot 107 was supposed to be "Active CHR"? I was anxiously awaiting the debut of this station because their website said they intended to play progressive artists (MGMT, LCD Soundsystem, Lilly Allen) from different genres of music. I'm pissed!

Technically all the now stations are Active hits,,, all it means is they are quick on new music,,, very youth friendly,, and tend to play all the hits...... And play little or no recurrents or gold...... Its basically like the Hot Hits format of the 80s.

It sounds like the nova network in Australia may be what you want.

Clubber is exactly right.

Marc, those are great artists but they aren't even setting the world on fire right now on many of the Modern Rock stations (with the exception of some notable West Coast stations). They're not really in vogue with most of the CHR audience, especially in America.
The type of station you might be looking for is Curve 94.3 Winnipeg:

Or the Nova stations in Australia:

There's also Nova stations in Perth, Brisbane, and Adelaide.

You FM in Frankfurt:
