I have been streaming Hot 107 for the past year and I am amazed of diverse music selection, imaging and personality, and listener engagement activities like Facebook Fridays. The station seems to break out new tracks in the hip hop, pop, and electronic genre before the conglomerate CHR stations. The music mix is like a combination of Kiss 100 London and 92.3 Now New York. I also find it amazing that Hot was able to cripple The Bounce with few commercials, few DJs and no morning show. Is it possible that Yerxa has discovered the winning formula to lure the younger generation away from their iPhones and MP3 players and rediscover radio? Is this a trend that, if proven successful, could be launched by Yerxa in other markets?
I realise that Hot 107 does not participate in the BBM. I know someone has to be taking market share from The Bounce (and maybe Up!) but I also question if Yerxa is keeping the truth under wraps in case the ratings are not adequate.
