Edward wants to know...

Eddie boy asked how things where going....

Well... You really want to know how far back in time I went?

Let's just keep it at things are good here. They like me, I like them. However, I've been banned from the Arkansas radio board, so I am a radio person with no local board :( Then again, they did say that I could write to my hearts content in the Dallas board.

Here's you're opportunity to mold a jock! I was originally hired to be he local Engineer for Hot Springs. They talked me in to doing Mid-days cause they want "That Dallas Sound". So now I'm not only the Engineer, I'm also the Mid-day guy who gets to do a "Retro Lunch". Help me out, other than talking too fast, I haven't done music radio in 13 years, what are some tips that could be useful to use in music radio?

Don't worry; I'm 5 hours out of town now, so I won't be encroaching on your air-space.

I will be back in town for the Anime Festival Labor Day weekend.... That's when you should start looking over your shoulder MMWWWWHHHHHAAAAA<-- Evil laugh

Doc,
did you really get banned from the Arkansas Board? Why?

I know a few folks around Hot Springs....so they told you
one thing and then gave you another. I hope it works out
for you in a good way.

Take Care.

Hey DOC!

Man I have to tell you... welcome to the smaller market radio biz... I know the feeling oh to well! As for your MID DAY shift-- the trick is this-- watch your pace.. keep it fun.. and phoners-- LOTS OF PHONERS... request OR question of the day with interaction and prizes (lunches or station give-a-ways) and always keep entertaining-- keep the music flowing-- and the people will love you for it!

The only reason I give you these tidbits is because when I moved to East Texas-- I was hired to do sports and news-- wound up doing a morning shift of music then the mid-day Jammin Lunch Hour-- now talk about dealing with your credibility on the air as a news person and a sports play by play-- now you are heard doing music and having fun and games-- just proves that if you are confident in your ability-- people will respond to you!

Good luck Doc... always good to hear from you!

Just a thought

Cool Doc. ON the music radio format, use your phones, engage the listeners ,allow them to talk, request and of course adlib. Banned from the Ark. board? tsk tsk, have you stirred up trouble?:) Good luck Doc, it goes to show ya good guys can win.

Have fun, talk to---not at the listener; and don't try to sound like a Dallas radio guy.
