EEI - FYI

Hey guys, you already know I’m a behind scenes person and don’t write on the board much. But EEI and I are parting and I don’t want that spun the wrong way against Entercom. When there is any kind of change there’s always random chatter (that’s what boards do), so here’s the scoop from me. Been with 850 everyday since the very beginning in 84’ (WZOU to WHDH bought by WRKO who buys WEEI) cause I’m fiercely loyal to whomever I work for. Big changes have been in the works for a while and part of the WEEI evolution needs to be a new voice, etc. That’s what they say they have to do. Many of you know I haven’t had anything to do with the creative there for over 10 years. When we created all that Big Show stuff it was brand new. Then I left and haven't been an employee since 1997. You barely hear me these days on EEI anyway, most of it is Pete Gustin’s voice and all his creative.

I keep in touch with home by reading you folks and the people here are pretty savvy (for the most part, those that floss :), so just wanted to leave this note so it isn’t misconstrued as an anti-Entercom thing, another person leaving. It’s not in my case, and with all I do I don’t have any other Entercom stations. I’m on most of their competitors like in SF where we dominate so I’m not beholding to them. But right is right and best to hear it from me. They are gonna be awesome, and we are very busy 7 days a week, 16 hours a day in all time zones and have 20 new things starting in May alone. Jason Wolfe has always been a smart, solid guy and remains a good friend. Sorry if some of you don’t like that but that’s the way I roll. I have to live in NY for now but our hearts and friends are back home. Living among the Yankee-mooks is surreal. But you’d be surprised how many B hats are worn down here. Thanks for listening all those years. Sorry Big O! And thanks for all the fish.

Hi Jim,
Can't remember the last time I posted here (I like to keep tabs on what's going at home, though). But when I saw your post, I had to jump in and just say on behalf of listeners, thanks for all you did at EEI. Even though I was gone by the time you finally agreed to join them, your contributions there can't be overstated, and you were as much a part of the success there as anyone.
It would sound silly to say hope things are going well for you - so I'll just say I hope things continue to go as well for you as they have over the years :)

Agreed, best of your continued success and I believe you will still be heard on WEEI AM 850 if ESPN
continues to use your intros etc...

Thank you both. Very grateful for everything we get to do. I wish I could say what I do is important like curing cancer, but it's not.

Hi Will. LOL. I miss Burlington. (Home of Amy Pohler) I have a good friend on Burlington police there, and was around when the land around the mall was all woods. Thank you.
