I'm not sure how I overlooked the obvious! Anyway, 103.7 WERI would be a perfect choice if they put WEEI-FM in Boston. A classic set of calls that are available (RI-104 days), plus it follows WEEI's flow on keeping an E and an I in there. Now that I said this, some other station might try and grab those historic calls before Entercom does
I'm curious if this "it's official" for 93.7 on 1/10/10 is valid. If it is, I wonder if Mike-FM would move to HD2, displacing the (what used to be) Star 93.7's format which is there now? ...And would 850 still stay WEEI (AM) if they put ESPN there? If not, they could put the call on another 'EEI thats on AM (maybe Worcester, but then where would the WVEI (AM) call go?). We can speculate day and night, but we'll have to wait and see.
