The actual charted 45 had volumes 1 & 2. The song is so long that it couldn't fit on a single side of the single at all, although I do believe that such technology exists now for that though.
I've heard that recording, and I didn't know it had "parts" the way a symphony has movements. WCRB doesn't hesitate to play "parts" or segments of longer compositions, and it's been criticized (properly) for doing so. Stations playing mass-marketed recorded material have truncated such recordings for years, usually by taking out snippets here and there, like reducing the number of the the yada-ya-da's in "Hey Jude".

they need to play "Dreidel," McLean's not-quite-a-hit in '72 or so. My wife didn't believe he'd done a song called that until I played her an MP3 of it. At 1 AM. Miraculously, we're still married!

More recently, they've been playing alot of Jefferson Starship and Men at Work and I think even some Johnny Cash. And earlier in the week ( I think it was Monday morning, actually), they played current/recent hit "Last Name" from Carrie Underwood.

Yeah, it gets way overplayed!

------
Some of the less relegated stations have played Vincent.
...such as 740, which plays Don's version but also Justin Hayward's (Moody Blues) version.

Every adult hits station says that, though Mike really does... though that might not really be a good thing. Typically these stations focus around 80's pop/rock, but in recent days I've heard 50 Cent "In Da Club" and Rascal Flatts "What Hurts The Most" on WMKK. Does their normal listener want to hear those? Seems like most P2s would be looking for Simple Minds or Genesis instead.
