"Effect Radio" and northwest Washington

Due to CBC being granted 88.1 FM, "The Effect" has had some challenges.
From their site:

http://www.effectradio.com/stations.htm

Bellingham, WA
10/29/2008
ON THE AIR!
Our translator in Bellingham, WA is now on the air, on a new frequency - 88.3 FM.

Northwest Washington, 88.1 FM:
10/16/2008
Port Townsend, Bellingham, Mount Vernon,
& Lake Stevens
A new 18,000 watt full-power station has been built in Vancouver, BC (Canada) - on 88.1 FM. Our translators in Northwest Washington are at a power of 8 watts or less, each, which is easily over-run by interference. Our engineers will be trying to modify these stations, in order to continue to broadcast in these cities.

Port Townsend, 88.1 FM: This station will be turned off, and cannot be modified to a new frequency.
Bellingham, 88.1 FM: Though our Bellingham station had been on 89.9 FM, 89.9 is now broadcasting CSN Radio, our sister station. Their station in Bellingham was on 88.1 FM, which having been displaced, we have given our station on 89.9 back to CSN. We will now have to wait until the 88.1 translator station can be modified to a new frequency, in order to broadcast in Bellingham again.
Mount Vernon, 88.1 FM: We may be able to modify this station to a new frequency, though it will be at a lower power, and slightly smaller coverage area as a result.
Lake Stevens, 88.1 FM: We cannot modify this station, but may be able to keep this one on the air as it is. The coverage of this station is now affected by additional interference.
That explains what was mashing against KPLU so hard when I was through that area this past weekend.

KPLU has a Bellingham translator on 88.7 and one on 91.1 in Skagit County.

They are planning to move "Defect Radio" to 88.3 in Mount Vernon too. How SMART. Because then, co-channel interference from BOTH KPLU AND CBC Radio One Vancouver will kick their butts even WORSE.
