Ego Attack at Cowboys in Dothan

Boy it's fun sittin in the back watchin egos clash like wrestling titans. Friday nights
Mark Chesnut show was a barn burner. And that's without Chesnutt. Seems giant DJR ego
boy Gary Michaels attempted to steal the show not only from TVY but from the artist too.
After grabbing (stealing) the mic more than once from not only the performers, but TVY too,
Michaels quickly became the horses patootie of the night and crapped all over himself and the
shocked TVY crew. Seems like Amy Pollard has met her match and was too inscensed to even
comment. Now I'm not siding with Miss Collard and the lowly TVY team, but even they've lost
control of their beloved Cowboys. Ron (Cowboys owner) on the other hand is enjoying having
his butt kissed on both cheeks now by TVY and DJR. Everybody in the club was wondering who
this show stopping idiot was.

This Michaels dude [EDIT]. His daily on
air show is filled with his own crowing about how connected he is with every country star alive or
dead. If that's true, why is he in the Dothan market?? Hey ego boy keep endearing yourself to
your listeners by telling them how great you are and watch this market's biggest redneck eat
your lunch. Amy's hungry (though a good bit desperate now). Best keep your hands off her plate.
Probably won't take long til he's out on a rail.

May just have to make a trip to Cowboy's next Event.
Maybe Ron should charge extra when both stations are there ;)
 
Gary Michaels is the greatest thing that ever happened to radio in this market.

Don't believe me? Just ask him.
 
He and trp will learn that ego and bravado don't work in this market.

Go to cowboys and ask almost any patron down there what they think of him.
You will get some amusing answers.
 
Both Stations giving their advertising dollars away for free just to prove a point . What a way to value radio . Mean while Ron Smiles all the way to the bank at DJR & TVY'S Expense
I was really suprised to see DJR to stoop to Tvy level just to fight over Cowboy's
 
Integrity. Not part of TRP's master plan. Win at all cost, no matter what level you have to stoop to. I know that a few people on this board didn't care for Jerry Broadway when he was in charge there, but at least the station was doing it's own thing instead of trying be a TVY replica. Can they really think that bending themselves over the table in order to introduce a few shows from names nobody knows (who the hell is Craig Hand?) is going to make the difference?

I really don't think any of this matters. If TVY doesn't panic (i.e. react), and continues to superserve their core audience they'll be fine, DJR will slip a little further down the line, and TRP hatchet (which is never really put away apparently) will show up again to shake up things after the fall numbers come out.
