Eisen Moving to ESPN Radio

There was no contract with Infinity.

Westwood One distributed his show. Westwood One distributes Infinity. It was a partnership of convenience after Jim Rome left Infinity for a new WW1 deal and timeslot change.

Surprised his contract with Infinity enabled this.

Not sure what, if anything, Infinity will fill the gap with. Eisen was hired to fill the void left by Jim Rome moving.
I was wondering why Roku was de-emphasizing their relationship with Eisen. His TV simulcast portion is also going to one of the ESPN networks.

The struggling sports radio station carrying his show where I am will probably replace him with more sports-betting slop.

This is the best thing to happen to ESPN Radio probably since The Dan LeBatard Show.

Is it gonna save the lineup? No but it's at least something.

Granted I find the timing funny since my local sports station is dropping ESPN Radio next month.

That explains it. Thanks for clearing it up.

I was struck by how lean Rome's affiliate lineup is after he switched syndicators. I know most listen online, but still.

The worst daypart for a syndicated Sports show to be in is afternoon drive as that's when most stations have their local show. Rome made the move knowing his video component was primary now and the radio part secondary.

Eisen was always a west coast show that aired in the afternoon back east.

So will he be moving out of DirecTV studios now since he will be in house with ESPN.

it was fed live in the 12-3pm Eastern daypart. Some affiliates delayed it to air in afternons especially when it was distributed by Fox Sports Radio so they could air Cowherd live as FSR gave affiliates the option.

ROME moved earlier this year from the same 12-3pm timeslot to a 3-6pm clearance.

Any idea if he moves his studio. I doubt AT&T still wants him there. This does way back to the Audience DirecTV era. Will ESPN move him in house.

Who ever owns the building he’s in.
Eisen owns the show so he's probably paying rent directly. ESPN will just be paying him to license the content.

But with the expected ESPN purchase of NFL Network, it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see his show move into the NFLN facilities by SoFi Stadium should ESPN retain them

I was thinking that too, if they take over NFL Network having Eisen in house is a lot easier.

I wonder if a desperate Infinity will reach out to their favorite “bad boy,” Craig Carton, now a free agent after his latest TV fling failed, to fill that daytime slot.

Currently listening to Infinity Sports Radio and they are still carrying Eisen's show, complete with ESPN brand mentions and bumper music. This is on their official stream as well as their Siriusxm feed.

I was just coming to ask this because I switched on our local AM station that carries the BETQL/Infinity Sports Radio and they were still playing Rich Eisen. Make's me believe that either they are allowing the Infinity contract run out OR Eisen is just allowing his show to go out to whoever regardless and Disney/ESPN doesn't really care.

I believe it is the former. I found an article saying as much, I should have posted it here.
