The three, back to back, were the the top stories on KTLA Prime News at 10 PM.

EL Cucuy arrested for domestic violence and threatening an L.A. police officer. Also, possibly injuring his son (all per KTLA).

The Jamie, Jack and Stench firing was briefly announced next (Ross King to do the story later in the cast).

Jim Lamply, former CBS 2 news anchor and sports anchor, arrested for domestic violence in San DIego.

Fox 11 News also ran with a billboard of the El Cucuy story at the top of their news.

Fox 11 reporting that the 28 year old son of El Cucuy suffered a non-life threatening knife wound and blood was found.

Ross King on KTLA reaired the entire Bill Handel audio clip from Star. That was great. Ross King said Clear Channel commented that had nothing to do with the decision to fire them and that the decision was made many weeks prior to the incident..

The son showed the wound on Telemundo last night. It was so small it could not be seen in a close up on lo-def TV.

Yeah, send Lampley to Bishop (a fitting punishment) and El Apebrain to wherever he was spawned.

If he has his citizenship, then it should be stripped. Send his ass back.

California's prisons are overcrowded with immigrant criminals.

Oh, you are saying it's just a small wound so it's not a big deal? Understood.

A large portion, of course, of Univision radio's target audience.

If he woas wounded, then rose bushes should be arrested for assault. My point was that he was _not_ wounded.

And you can't deport US citizens.

First off, if the kid was struck, that would be battery, not assault.

Secondly, there doesn't have to be blood for a wound. Nor does the size of the injury matter.

Third, if this sorry excuse of a man beat his wife and cut his kid - he's innocent right now, maybe he didn;t do it - he deserves to be sent back.

I am sick and tired of paying for a prison system full of people who bring their sense of domestic justice with them when they hop the border fence.

El grito del hypocrito

From tmz.com: the popular Spanish speaking DJ known as "El Cucuy" was booked Wednesday on suspicion of making criminal threats after he was involved in a confrontation with police on New Year's Day.

Police say they were called to the Northridge, Calif. home of Maximo Almendares early Monday morning on a domestic violence call. When officers arrived, they found traces of blood in the house and on Almendares' wife. The wife was initially uncooperative and belligerent with officers, according to police.

Los Angeles station KNBC reports that Almendares made threats against his wife and a police officer, and that his 28-year-old son was bleeding from his chest. According to police, the son got in the middle of an altercation between his parents and then left the house with his father. Officers also say they found a knife at the scene.

Detectives say that since the call on Monday morning, they have been in contact with Almendares via his attorney, and they ultimately convinced him to turn himself in.

"El Cucuy" is well known for his community activism and has previously spoken out against domestic violence.

A Univision radio vice president has just equated the injuries afflicted by this man's alleged attack on his family with a knife - with a cut from a rose bush.

El Cucuy works for you, doesn't he? It's hard to tell with all the out of date press releases you guys have on your web pages.

How many Univision radio stations is El Cucuy carried on, David?

Regardless of whom El Cucuy works for this week, is it Univision radio's official stand that domestic violence is no more serious than a cut from a rose bush, David?

Does Univision Radio have any plans to address the fact that its biggest (former) star has been arrested for a serious crime - one that this star has been campaigning piously against?

Does Univision Radio take domestic violence against women and other relatives this lightly?

Are we just supposed to think this is a cultural thing, and I am being culturally insensitive?

Please tell us, David. I can hardly wait.

If you want to see a white-washed story with a little commentary about what this man didn't do for the Hispanic community, read this from Aztlan Electronic News http://www.aztlanelectronicnews.net/content/view/95/2/

Shouldn't that determination be left up to the legal system at this point?
Unless you feel like you should decide what happened.in its place

And no, you cannot deport US citizens.....however "Resident Aliens" no matter
how popular they are on radio are fair game.

That is exactly what I have been telling Hans in a (receently moved) thread. Even the charges are not as originally reported.

Since, as far as I know, none of the people in question are resident aliens, the observation, while accurate, does not apply.
