I wonder how long this format will last?

It's low cost and it has a chance to pull from some big stations - albiet their signal isn't perfect for the format - it should pull at least double, if not triple the shares of Indie.

I actually like the new format A LOT!!!. IMO, the station plays a better variety of music than most LA Spanish stations. They play lots of songs that you rarely get to hear on other stations, the format is pretty upbeat, and they don't repeat the songs as much as other do. At least from what I heard so far.

It's amazing that you would get this perception. The facts are totally contrary to what you say. The library is small, about 160 to 180 songs, and the turnover is extreme... Hots are every 2 hours, mediums are about 2:15 and light currents are 2:45, with the recurrents spinning as fast as the other regional Mexican stations play their currents.

You say that there is a better variet than on "Most LA Spanish (language) stations" and, that they play songs others don't play. Of course, only a few of the stations are in the same format, so there would be 0% overlap with KLVE, KLYY, KRCD, KSSE, KHJ, etc. Spanish is a language, not a format and Gato competes directly with only 3 other stations, where you can hear it.
