Elaine Corral & Anna Chavez

Yeah, what ever to Elaine Corral, formerly of KTVU & Anna Chavez, formerly of KPIX? Is KTVU going to do something to replace Leslie Griffith now that she's gone? ???

Last I heard, Elaine Corral was in LA working on her acting career.

I suspect that KTVU will move Julie Haener into Leslie's former position. To replace Julie's spot they will probably move reporter Gasia Mikaelian into that vacant spot.

As for Anna Chavez, I have not heard a word about her.

1069 Kifer, we need to get Vicki Liviakis away from KRON!! She would look real good on KTVU!!! Dennis Richmond is going to retire someday and the "Award Winning 10 'o clock News" will need some legendary talent Hooray for Vicki!! Elaine Corral was only in that position cause Alfredo Corral put her there!! I would like to see Priya David on more, shes really good!! Channel 2 always has the best people on !! Im glad we have KTVU, KRON, KGO, and KPIX never will have KTVUs ratings!! Kenny in Concord

Anna Chavez was doing well at KPIX in the mid 90s, and just decided it was time to either retire or change careers...I don't remember which No drama, no problems - just a clear headed decision. After a decade or more of success as an anchor in both SF and LA, she had probably saved enough money and decided to enjoy a less stressful life.

Corrall's name has come up again lately because her sudden departure from KTVU had some parallels to that of Leslie Griffith.

Ooops, I wasn't thinking clearly. I forgot about Sara Sidner. She would fit in very well in at Julie Haener's spot. THEN Gasia Mikaelian would be a great replacement for Sara Sidner's spot.

I think it's time to put Dennis Richmond out on a long assignment. Alot of fine and talented folks have left channel 2 from what I have come to understand because of Mr. Richmond, could this be true? in my opinion he has as much personality as an IRS agent on a audit. (crack a smile once in a while it won't hurt)

I'm not particularly a huge fan of Richmond, and I don't know whether his co-workers like him or not, but he's become an institution, and he's at least as good as any of the other male anchors around now - better than Denton, in my opinion, whose SUPER DRAMATIC AND LOUD DELIVERY gets tiresome after about 5 minutes. Remember that Dennis and the 10 O'Clock News first became popular as the antidote to all of the lame "happy-talk" newscasts that were popular in the 70s. So being serious was an integral part of their format. I recall a TV critic joking that you couldn't tell that Richmond and his co-anchor (Barbara Simpson at the time) were even in the same room.

Besides, I like the way he always says "San FRAN cisco."

I do agree with the comment about all "Happy Talk" news formats of the 70's and channel 2 prides itself on a "Dry approach" of delivery of the news, but a nice middle ground would be nice. The thing that gets on my nerves is the news teasers going into a break that channel 2 is doing more of these days it's getting to me. I do have to agree also about Allen Denton he acts as if he moves too fast his hair will get messed up, take away the telepromter and what do you have?

Ted Baxter...or George Putnam.
