Election Night 2008- How Did Radio do?

There were a lot of options in Seattle on election night, but I think KOMO Radio nailed it! It sounded like they were everywhere, and were very well prepared. KIRO also had a great presence but Ron and Don are not made for politics. Thank goodness Tony Miner was around. KUOW spent too much time with the network in my opinion.

KOMO did better in the reporting department but overall KIRO nailed it mainly due to Dave and Dori with Tony Miner. They were no match for the 'Taters on AM 1000.

I will say for events like yesterday it's nice to have two good news stations in the Northwest.

Anybody else like me, a tad resentful that the heritage AM710 signal has suddenly become KIRO's poor cousin?
Whenever I tune in I only hear the 97.3 references, nary a 710.

Listened to both 97.3 and KOMO. Have to tip the scales in favor of KIRO for the all around election coverage.

I listened to KIRO, KUOW and KOMO. National coverage on NPR was superb, but local lagged a bit. Overall, I'd give it to KIRO because it's hard to be Dori and Dave for analysis, though thought KOMO's reporters did a better job.

Regardless, we have a new leader. And he has one HELL of a job to do.

Like Dave Mustaine once sang in that classic rock tune "Peace Sells" Megadeth "If there's a new way/I'll be the first in line/But it had better work this time...."

Sums it all up.....
