Electric woes

I noticed the slip at 94.9
I hope Gary doesn't rush to change the format again without
giving the rhythmic flavor a better chance. Personally, the
new injection sounds great. I'm sure there are detractors out
there, but how many times can you be subjected to Sheryl Crows'
"First cut..." Granted 'TFM went up a little, but that is par
for the course for HVBC. I saw that 'QUT took a hit, but what
is going on with 'GOC back up? Is Country Oldies that popular?
Just some observations. Any thoughts?

This is the Tri-Cities, Tennessee-Virginia.

I assure you that country oldies are that popular.

By the way, Jazz is also popular in New Orleans, as is Glam Rock in Los Angeles, Grunge Rock in Seattle, and Polka in Milwaukee.

Gotcha! It's been a while since VAHS graduation. I thought this may have
been something that went the way of the dinosaur, guess not.

Probably a little left over hemmoraging from the hot AC experiment. I traveled through the Tri-Cities last week expecting to hear Electric playing the same stale 1980s John Mellencamp garbage they were last summer, but was pleasantly surprised hearing them back to what they do best. Hopefully, they stick through the next couple books and get their old listeners back.

I think that the MD should be tapped a tad more for his input
on new music. He seems to have an edge the station has needed
for a while. And NO I was not paid for that.

Okay Reed, where's my fifty bucks and years' supply of yoohoo?

How can I get a Free Years supply of YooHoo? I Love that Stuff!!

You need a goat, a bowling ball, a can of lard and (3) day-old
bagels. (You can substitute the goat with a badger if you don't
mind the snippy attitude).
If you have to ask me what the use of the items consists of then
you simply don't have what it takes to handle a years' supply
of the light brown gold. It takes someone "special" to do this
job. You DO have the special part down, but can you take it to the
next level?

Have you seen their tv commercial? Their "serious" about music!! or something. Gary needs to go into commercials for car dealerships...He's got the face... :D

Trends Not to Gooood for electric....Tied with the PeAk at #8 in a 4 station market LIFE SUPPORT....SHOULD WE PULL THE PLUG ....GET THE PADDLES OUT.....WE'RE FLAT LINING!!!!!!!WE NEED A SPINDOCTOR IN HERE STAT!!!!!

Finally back in the RADIO INFO WORLD! Am I sure everyone suffered because of the tremendous wisdom the board was lacking due to my absence! And yes, I DO believe I am the answer to the universe of radio, thank you verymuch! Oh, wait, I thought I was Bruce Clark for a second, sorry.I would love to come and fix the problems at Always EZ, but I am too busy trying to convince the world Dick Cheney doesn't have a grudge against hunters. ABD thatgas prices are not thaaaaaat bad. The medication the nurse gives me tastes good!Is there no room for a good CHR in the Tri-cities? (emphasis on the word "good")The SpindoctorUncle Buck Rules!

Dr. Spin, Dick "Duck" Cheney doesn't have a grudge against hunters, it's people he hates. All of 'em. And gas prices aren't all that bad...just ask the guy who retired from EXxon/Mobil last month and received an $800,000,000.00 pocket watch. I'll bet he thinks gas prices are right aboot where they need to be. Maybe a touch low. As far as your meds tasting a little funny, did you know prescription medications from Canada are much more affordable and all taste like delicious Maple Syrup? I have Placidyl Pancakes for breakfast every morning!! Good eats, eh? Keep the rubber side down and your powder dry.SlopJockey

:-2.9? Ow somebody get the engineer! the Big Rap Jukebox blue a fuse! Oh I forgot we don't have an engineer!

Stevie,Where in the world are you now? I'm the on-air brain surgeon that brought his psychotic (ex) wife to the Electric party barge back in the days when you and Hollywood ran the Tri-Cities! Yes, she is still seeing the electro-shock therapist and having people remove sharp objects from her grasp. Sorry folks, a little walk in the past, back to the middle and around again...Name the top three problems with Electric (And the first three can't be Bruce Clark).Out for now,The Spindoctor

Have you seen the latest lineup? They're all just out of school. Can you say "no experience"? Gary's running out of relatives. Good Luck GB. You might try an illegal immigrant. Arriba! An Delay! Lets hear that Spanish Rap....

Man! Those were the good ol days! I forgot about the party barge thing! Email me and let me know who you are so I can keep in touch Spindoctor! I would love to talk about the old times! As far as what's the top 3 things wrong with Electric...where should I even begin. Please forgive me, as I am no longer there in the Tri-Cities to listen all day or night. But, I have kept up with some of the music they play. I think they are doing it all wrong. I wouldn't even give "Electric" the time of day to even think about all that they are doing wrong, let alone try and help them. Bottom line is this...they NEVER had the ratings they currently have while I was working there. I am not saying that was because of me or for that matter any ONE person. I know that for a fact. The station, in my opinion, is being programmed as a station would have back in 98. That's what happens when you think you know everything and aren't willing to listen to the other people involved with the station, and also not listening to your listeners. I can say that promotions always were the same ones over and over again and still are. They need to get some fresh blood to program that station. It's like the old saying...If you do the same things over and over again, you can't expect a different result or outcome. That's life 101! Piece out!Stevie "B"

Gary's running out of relatives to fill slots. Looks like the staff other than the morning show is just out of school. Maybe he feels they know the "hip hop" sound. Bring some "homeboys" in Gary. I'm sure there's plentyin Charleston...... ::)

You know what's great about Electric? Their website! It's sad that's the best thing I could come up with about them. It is actually one of the best looking layouts of a radio station website in our market. It's too bad it's ruined with those artists pictures that change on the top banner. It's some of the worst photoshop work I've ever seen and I don't know about everyone else, but when you can't spell things right, it's not professional and you can't be taken serious. The correct way to spell the leader singer of Maroon 5's name is Adam Levine NOT "Levigne." As Dr. House would say, GOOGLE IT! I wonder if I google "how many times will electric change their format this year" what I will come up with?

Actually polka is more popular in Minneapolis. Milwaukee prefers its rock stations.

Over and out.....
