Electric woes

Hey, it's showtime folks....new to the board out of that East Tenn area.....who is everone? I recognize Stevie B being formerly of BBC. Is spindoc formerly from the erwin station?

I think Electric will do fine once they shake off the remainder of the Hot AC dust. Just an opinion.

speaking of people from erwin...is the guy doing 7-12m on electric the same guy that was pd of that erwin station.blade?
 
i checked out the website...yeah its blade from erwin...now on electric 94.9 hahahaha
 
I don't know of Blade or any of the people at Electric, but I was in from the Carolinas over the weekend and they don't sound that bad. What's up?
 
Sounds like Electric's ratings are so low, they are using desperate measures. :eek: Thank God I don't live in that area anymore. Radio was really crappy then, I can only imagine how bad it is now. Oh well, maybe Blade has changed and I hope he does well with the station and for the station. I'm out like scout...PEACE!

We've all had our own personal woes, but it sounds like the Tri-cities haven't been too favorable to you. Take it from some one who has had a serious case of cranial-rectitus in his 20 years in music... radio people don't forget, but the public will.
Maybe this move to Electric will be that epiphany you need. A cranial-rectal inversion is what many radio people need so join the club of the reformed.

wow....indeed it would seem that Blade (formerly of wxis) has ruffled some feathers. Well, I'm not sure if it is accurate (like my spelling), but I saw a somewhat lengthy explaination of the wxis situation on a web site I googled a few months back...I will try to remember how I came accross it and post the link....it touched on things like the conditions of his actually leaving. He obviously (from the text) opted to leave due to some personal problems with the Ops Mgr...or Mgt. He was charged with harrassment over a song parody "after" he left the building, according to the site. Without saying much more, I live/ work in Unicoi county and I saw the warrant/ summons. The charges were thrown out.

I heard him on electric also. He sounds amped....I thought there was bad blood. Who called who? He hasn't been on-air since 2003. Anyway, the station doesn't sound that bad and maybe they have other plans for the dude. Who knows, maybe the rabbit suit is in his future.

Showtime.

Bringing back Blade Michaels, same guy that used to have girls in bikinis wash his car in the WXIS parking lot and called it a "promotion" is the least of Electric's attempts to beg for ratings. I see they finally took my advice and took all those mispelled names off the banner of their website, what did they replace it with? Now Paris Hilton is included in the banner! Nothing like adding a Gwen Stefani ripoff to your "popular" artist site who has only released one single in their entire life, especially when the entire voice on the song was done in the studio. Maybe we can get them to add Flock Of Seagulls on there sometime. Another thing... talking sh*t on your morning show (Friday, Aug. 4th) about a JC attorney who has never lost a case and advertised on your station!... whereas his opponent didn't is the smartest business decision I've ever seen!

J-Street: I almost would have agreed with you on this if I had just heard it on Friday, but it was actually aired on Thursday---election day and the Propane morning show actually had this candidate on the air with them. It was great local radio. Even if Elektrik had anything to do with it. I have been in town with family and have been listening to 94. Blade's not bad. Needs the basics, but who am I? I sell cars. What do you do J-Street?

Well what do I know about radio? I sell propane and propane accessories. But I'm a smart enough business man to know you don't piss off your sales clients. I don't even think you need to be taught that, it's common sense, something that is obviously lacking over at the propane show.

On the other side... I like to give everyone a hard time, like I did with Blade earlier. But I've met him before and he seemed like a cool guy. He will help Electric IF they can keep the WXIS drama out of the spotlight. But then again, if everyone in the TriCities finds out about the controversy, they're still going to tune in so Electric profits anyway, even if only for the immediate future. It may hurt them more in the long run. Looks like Blade may have a huge impact on Electric one way or another.
