Electro-Voice RE50 parts?

An accidental mic drop produced a dead RE50. Cause was a dead driver element:

I have searched for the part number several times with web searches but have come up empty. Electro-Voice was no help either, not responding to my inquiry and not having the part on their website. I know RE50's are terribly expensive but I'd like to get this one fixed as it is almost new. If anybody knows about the availability of these I'd appreciate if you'd pass on the info.

Thanks-

Val

You might try Bosch, I know they do the refurbishment on RE20 and RE27, I have two units headed back my way just now!

If Bosch doesn't have the part, your best bet is to ship the microphone to E-V for repair.

Looking at the microphone element, I don't see anything that would indicate damage due to a drop.

Those microphones can survive nearly every drop.

Have you measured the resistance across the microphone's dynamic element? If it shows that the element is open, I suspect that voltage was applied across pins 2 and 3 of the XLR connector.
