As was mentioned before, it's amps (current) that kill people. All it takes is 1 ampere going through your heart to knock you down dead. Scary.

On an interesting sidenote; Tesla discovered that at extreamly high frequencies (approaching alpha), insanely high voltages/amps could be sent through the human body without it getting shocked.
