Electrovoice PL80 Mic

Since the RE20 is probably the most widely used broadcast mic, I thought it would be a good idea to audition an EV PL80. With a street price of only $99 shipped, it could be useful in an air or production studio. Mine hasn't arrived yet. Has anyone here used one? It could be a sleeper, based on reviews in some audio magazines. A primary difference between it and the RE20 is the PL80 has a pronounced proximity effect, which some jocks really like.
