"Elizabeth Reed" classic hit?

Why is Frank FM playing "in Memory of Eliz. Reed" by Los Allman Brothers? This was never a hit! Never even released as a single, if I recall! Good tune, bad progamming!

Some sort of southern rock special weekend perhaps? I agree this one is a bit obscure for a station that claims to be classic hits.

It's Franks Southern Fried Weekend. They're featuring the Allman's, Skynyrd, 38 Special, Outlaws, etc. all weekend long.

actually, Oldies in Portland plays Timothy & T.O.P.
nothing obscure about 'em.
(sick, maybe, vis a vis The Buoys, but not obscure)

Classic Hits is a spin-off of classic rock. It's a flavor of classic rock that has a wider appeal. In fact, so much so that it borders on "Soft rock" from days of yore.

Every CR station I've worked for had Elizabeth Reed in their rotation, so this doesn't surprise me at all. ESPECIALLY since they were doing a theme weekend. How many times can you stand to listen to "Devil Went Down to Georgia" and "Freebird" in one weekend?

Just an FYI on "Timothy".....

Yes, there were only about 7 of us that bought the album, but, if you did you realized that Timothy was in fact a mule, not a guy.

Ass chops anyone?
