Ellen Hyatt

Is she and was she always part of Metro Traffic? I can remember hearing her a few years ago during afternoon drive on KNEW. This past week I heard her on KSFO just before Coast to Coast AM.

Ellen was a direct employee of KNEW and they had a recent layoff a few months back.

She was just hired for a newly created full-time evening position (at Metro) and it's not just KSFO, there is also Sirius traffic and Air America radio news. She worked for Shadow years before and also worked at Traffic Pulse in Emeryville.

Back in the old Sacramento days back home she was news director at K-108 when it was Mellow Rock (before Arrow-108 and The End) and later woked at KFBK.

K-108 was really a great station in its time and those were the days when an FM station had its own news department. It's a sign of the times that those days are gone.

Did she replace Kent Hunt at K-108? I recall that he was the news director at KXOA for most of the 80's...

I don't think she was news director at K108...but, I could be wrong. I know she worked there for awhile and was maybe News Director for a little while after Ken Hunt left.

She's a great talent and a total news junkie. I think she was with Traffic.com before they became Traffic Pulse and before they were in Emeryville.

Good to know she's still on the air.
